Vendor Details

This page is intended for vendors or prospective vendors booked by our couples at For-Lou Farms to provide resources to help you plan! We welcome you to reach out with any questions, and we are happy to meet with you at the venue. We offer regular open houses at our venue for booked couples, their family & friends, and their vendors which would be a great time to connect! We recommend coordinating open house visits with the couple(s) who have booked you if possible.

Unloading/loading locations

Loading and unloading gear will depend what level of our barn the couple plans to utilize your services. Our venue is a bank barn, meaning it is built into a hill and both levels have vehicle accessibility without needing to carry equipment up a set of stairs. The upper level has a driveway ramp leading up to a large set of doors (see photo below) where vehicles can be backed up to. However, we ask that any equipment unloading here be complete at least 1 hour prior to the beginning of the event for the safety of event guests. The lower level has a few different entry points, depending on which area you need to set up. There is a set of double doors on the West end of the barn (see photo) that can be used, or there are also exterior doors directly into both the prep kitchen and multi-purpose room (which is often used for buffet lines).

Kitchen, multi-purpose room, and deck access (lower level)

We do not have a full commercial kitchen on site, however we do have a room that can be utilized as a prep kitchen. There is a standard refrigerator/freezer and a sink, as well as counter space. An extra rectangular banquet table can be set up in the middle if additional table space is needed. General dimensions of this room are 15’x12’. The exterior door opens to the driveway, where a vehicle can be parked as needed.

Many of our couples utilize the multi-purpose room to set up buffet lines. The general dimensions of this room are 24’x31’. The exterior door to this room also opens up to the driveway for easy access.

Any vendors who may need to unload equipment onto the deck (on the East side of the lower level) can unload at the same double doors on the West side. Concrete floors in the entry area and the Milk Parlor allow you to easily roll equipment through to the West doors. The driveway does not extend around to the East side of the barn. If preferred, equipment can be carried by hand from the driveway along the North side over to the deck, but vehicles can not be driven through the grass to access the deck.

Parking

Below shows the parking area relative to the rest of the property. The nearest parking space is approximately 160’ from the large doors of the Hay Mow (upper level). There is a gravel drive the connect the barn to the grass parking lot. If any vehicles or trailers need to be left overnight, please contact us for the best location to park them. If possible, vendor vehicles should be moved to the parking area prior to the beginning of the event.

Provided Tables & Floor Layouts

In the Hay Mow (upper level) we include 25 plastic 8’ rectangular banquet tables & 300 folding white chairs (half are often used for outdoor ceremonies- capacity on this level is about 150).

In the Milk Parlor (lower level) we include the built in tables along the North and South walls, as well as 7 wooden 7’ long rectangular farmhouse tables, and a 4 foot matching sweetheart/cake table. Capacity on this level is 132. We have matching wooden chairs for this space. Some of our clients choose to move the farmhouse tables upstairs for receptions held up there, to use as a head table.

We do not require our clients choose from a list of specific floor plans, but we do have some potential layouts listed here, to give them an idea of how a certain number of guests may fit in each space.

Measurements

Here is a link to some commonly requested measurements- especially helpful for florists & decorators! The built-in table dimensions are listed, as well as our included decor such as arches. The dimensions for our provided bar are also listed here.

Dropping off equipment outside of rental period

If you need to drop off or set up equipment before the client’s rental period, or pick it up after, we have asked the client’s to get written permission from us to do so in case of another event booked. We aim to be flexible with this as we know it is not feasible to take down a tent at 11pm immediately after a wedding, etc. Many of our couples take advantage of our 2 day rental (Friday & Saturday) which allows for some setup to occur the day before the event. If it is possible for vendors to drop off/setup during these hours on Friday we encourage it but understand for larger items other arrangements may need to be made. Contact us at forloufarms@gmail.com for questions about this.

Outlet locations

All of our indoor areas have ample outlet locations and extension cords most likely are not needed indoors. We also have outdoor outlet locations to accommodate speakers, food trucks, etc.

There is an outdoor outlet just to the south of the deck

There is an outlet at the grain bin, as well as just around the corner of the West Wood Barn

There are outdoor outlets at the panel down the driveway on the south side. This is just over 100 ft from the big barn doors (where the For-Lou Farms pin shows in this photo)
